Western Trust registered fewest Christmas complaints

JUST four formal complaints were received at Western Trust hospitals over the Christmas holiday period - the lowest number received by any health authority in Northern Ireland.

Health Minister Michael McGimpsey revealed there were four formal complaints at WHSCT hospitals during December 20 - January 11. This compared with 40 in Belfast; 17 in the Southern Trust; 15 in the South Eastern Trust; and eight in the Northern Trust.

He provided the details in response to an Assembly Question warning that whilst the complaints were received during the Christmas period, the actual date of the incidents which gave rise to the complaints may not have been during this period.
