Despite strong competition from Hillsborough Social last season they won their 28th Lisburn Indoor Bowling League Section A title in the last 29 years and life has just got better for Ballinderry.

Shortly after receiving the League trophy Raymond Stubbs won the prestigious Belmont singles a few days before the Ballinderry triple of Paul Reid, Gordon and Raymond Stubbs won their way through to the Irish finals.

Shortly afterwards Raymond Stubbs became the World Singles Champion after seeing off a large field of top short mat bowlers.

Last Saturday the Ballinderry trio were in action against A., R. and P. McKeown at the Irish Championship finals and they turned in another magnificent display to become Irish Triples champions.

Reid and the Marsden brothers started the final with four and two, but the McKeowns replied with two, one, one and after doubles were exchanged the score at seven ends was 8-6.

The next two ends turned out to be decisive with Ballinderry lifting successive threes to lead 14-6 and although dropping a three they finished with one two to win 17-9.
