The £50K Fight Night

NI Live Events hope their next White Collar Boxing night in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support, will take them to a massive £50,000 raised for local charities in the last 14 months.

Last March, NI Live Events unleashed their White Collar Boxing nights on the North Coast. These events have taken 42 local businessmen and women with no boxing experience and put them through an intense training process over a six week period.

With two sold out events already under their belt, NI Live Events are already planning round three.

A spokesperson from NI Live Events said: “ Our first event sold out in two weeks which blew us away as at that stage we were not sure of the interest in an event like this on the North Coast.

“With a sell out event and over £18,000 raised for the Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children, the area was buzzing for weeks with stories of the best entertainment to have taken place in years.

“When tickets for our second event went on sale, standard tickets sold out in 32 minutes. Again we were over the moon about this, but instantly it put pressure on us to make sure we produced an even bigger and better show. This we did by selling out Kellys for the second time.

“We put on more fights with a bigger show and a top class MC in Jim Eastwood, fresh off the Apprentice, and again raised £18,000 - this time for Mencap.

“At this stage we were divided on how soon we should run another event in the area, but public demand made our decision for us. Within days of our second event taking place we already had a long list of people wanting not only to take part in the event but also to sponsor fights.

“We also had a list of well known charities wishing to be our next ‘chosen charity of the night’.

“Our events are now talked about UK wide, have been seen on TV and we have already been asked to take the event to other parts of Northern Ireland as well as mainland UK. There are many other companies who put on White Collar Boxing events but we are told that no one else comes close to ours!

“So this takes us to the £50,000 fight night on June 8th in Kellys. We would love to be able to break this total. It has been only 14 months since we raised the first penny for charity and now we are setting our sights high.

“With another 11 fights taking place on the 8th of June we are hopeful that we will achieve this awesome goal.

“At this stage, although we have a substantial list of people wishing to take part, we are still taking applications for the next 7 – 10 days. So, if you want to get fit, raise money for a great charity and have the fight night of your life, get in touch with us now on [email protected].

“These events can only happen with the continued support of local businesses that come on as fight sponsors and contribute to the total raised for the charity. So, if your business would like more information on sponsoring a fight please email [email protected]

“Let’s hope the 8th of June will be another great night to remember!”
