Five members of Cookstown Social HPS sent a total of 138 birds to their first race of the Old Bird season from Tullamore race point.

The birds were liberated at 9.30am into a south-west wind. A fast race took place with the first nine positions taken by Derrygonigan Lofts of G and S Smith. Tenth place was taken by Mill Lane Lofts of Gerald Marshall.

The leading bird completed the distance at over one mile per minute.

Next week’s race will be from Roscrea.
