Earlier, the Carrickfergus top six all got starts in an impressive batting display, with Jamie Holmes top scoring with 49, sharing a second wicket stand of 84 with skipper Iain Parkhill (37).

Alex Haggan (35no), Eagleson (32), Michael Gilmour (29) and Kamtekar (26) all batted well ensuring Killyclooney were never really able to stem the steady flow of runs.

Meanwhile, Carrick kept their Ulster Bank Section 1 title hopes very much alive on Saturday with a 5 wicket victory over league leaders Lurgan at Middle Road.

Some excellent bowling and fielding by Carrick restricted Lurgan to 151 in their 50 overs, with opening bowler Anthony Martin taking 4 wickets, and Richard Hood and Ryan Eagleson picking up two wickets each.

Carrick lost both openers early, but 42 from Jamie Holmes and an unbeaten 54 from Indrajeet Kamtekar helped them to a crucial win in the 48th over.

This leaves Carrick one win behind Lurgan with two matches in hand. Victories in their final four matches would ensure them of the league title and return to the Premier league after a two year break.

Lurgan 151 (S Chambers 30, N Anderson 29, A Martin 4-36, R Hood 2-18, Ryan Eagleson 2-18)

Carrickfergus 156/5 (I Kamtekar 54 no, J Holmes 42, K Lyness 2-42)
