David takes Flowerfield Cup
Five over on the front nine, even with a six at the long fifth, netted him 20 points and he went one better coming in. A strong finish of 4, 4 at seventeen and eighteen yielded him a further 21.
Club Captain Derek Agnew has found that retirement has helped his game no end as he ran David close with only countback splitting them. Derek’s first dropped shot was at the fifth as he went out in two over par for 22 points. Unfortunate sixes at the par fives on the back nine, however, saw him slip into runner-up slot. Despite this he is still figuring well in the ‘Golfer of the Season’ chart.

Sean Doherty won the low section, also with 40 points. The highlight of a steady round from this 8 handicapper was a birdie two at the 12th.
Two handicapper Mark Windebank scored 15 points out but recovered well to come back with 21 taking the gross prize with a 74. Countback had to be used to separate Mark from Gerald Bradley, also off two.
