Rangers say this Saturday’s scheduled game, new boss Gary Haveron’s first at the helm, has been moved to East Belfast because of damage to the water system and boiler at Taylor’s Avenue.

According to a statement issued on the club’s website on Tuesday evening, it wasn’t certain the system could be repaired on time.

“The reason behind the switch of venue is due to the fact that the boiler and water system at Taylor’s Avenue suffered extensive damage yesterday,” the statement reads. “There is no guarantee that the system will be fixed and restored in time for the match on Saturday, therefore the decision to change the venue has been made as early as possible, in order to allow supporters of both clubs sufficient time to make arrangements.

“We would like to thank Dundela for their co-operation in facilitating the match at Wilgar Park this Saturday.”
