Curran strike wins it for City
Derry City ended their Sligo Rovers hoodoo and in doing so earned their first win of the campaign.
A second half strike from Enda Curran ensured the Brandywell men deservedly collected their first victory of the season.
However they had to work hard as Rovers had a host of chances with John Russell on two occasions missing clear cut opportunities.
In fairness his late header was kept out by a tremendous save by City goalkeeper Gerard Doherty.
After the game a modest Doherty spoke to Sentinel Sport’s Editor Kevin McLaughlin
