Gregg expecting exits

INSTITUTE manager John Gregg admits that he may lose some of his players sooner rather than later.

It's thought the likes of Mark Scoltock, Shaun Holmes, David Ogilby and Stephen Parkhouse, who incidentially is now a free agent may all leave the club during this month's transfer window.

A host of clubs are thought to be tracking the likes of Holmes, Ogilby and Scoltock, with the Prehen man believed to be top of Stephen Kenny's wanted list.

"All I can said at the minute is that some managers have been in contact with me about some of my players, but it would be unfair of me to discuss what managers, or what players have been talked about," he said.

"Obviously I don't want to lose any of my players but everyone knows because of the financial problems we have that I have to lose one or two players."

This weekend the Drumahoe club are expected to travel to Portadown, for what would be their first match in three weeks, however with the cold-snap expected to continue for the remainder of the week, Gregg is fearful his players will have another day off.

"I know there is nothing anyone can do but we have had only one training session which involved a ball in the last two weeks and that was at Bready's indoor facilities.

"It isn't ideal preparation for any side, but I think apart from Crusaders no team has been able to train out door because of the terrible weather.

"Apart from that session at Bready Cricket Club we have been training at DW Gym, which although it has been good at ticking the players over, we really need to get back to some football training, which involves a ball, so hopefully the cold-snap will end soon, but having seen the weather forecast I don't see any signs of that."

The Waterside men have no injury doubts for the game against Ronnie McFall's side, but Paddy McLaughlin continues to miss out as he still hasn't served his one match suspension, which came into effect on Monday, December 28.
