Last month Steele joined the Big Apple outfit, linking up with ex-Arsenal star Thierry Henry and former Everton midfielder Tim Cahill.

The former Real Salt Lake man was a second-half substitute in the Red Bulls’ opening match - a 3-3 draw away to Portland Timbers at a sold out JELD-WEN Field on March 3.

He started his first match for his new club when he faced San Jose Earthquakes - a game they lost 2-1. Steele got 69 minutes before being replaced by Ruben Bover.

He took his place in the starting 11 again in Saturday’s 0-0 draw at home to D.C. United in front of a 22,000-strong crowd.

This weekend the Red Bulls have a trip to Montreal, before hosting Philadelphia Union at the end of March.
