GOLF: Sun shines on City of Derry's Open Week
The McFeeley Cup Open played on Thursday saw the good weather continuing, but the scores were getting more difficult.
Arthur O’Hara (13) taking first slot with 39 points on a three way break of tie. Robert Simpson (5) got the second place break of tie 39 points, while Paul Wallace (4) came third with his 39 points, but managed the best gross score.
Michael O’Hara (14) took fourth place with 37 points.

Hide AdThe best visitor on the day was Brian Peoples (20) on 35 points. Karen Jackson (17) took the ladies prize with 31 points.
Lester Moore (2) won the front nine with 19 points and the back nine was won by past captain John Rosborough (13) with 21 points.
Friday’s competition was the McCambridge Duffy Open and once again conditions seemed perfect.
But the scoring said otherwise, one handicapper Ernie Heywood won with a score of 37 points (and best gross of 36 points).
This was followed by a three way break of tie on 36 points.

Hide AdKevin Cassidy (20) was awarded second, with big hitting Barry McMenamin (17) getting third place and Gary McDaid (15) finished fourth.
The ladies prize was awarded to Rosaleen McAnulla (23) for her fine score of 35 points, which put her in fifth place overall.
The best visitor was Greencastle’s Paul O’Doherty (9) on a break of tie 34 points (just beating playing partner Maurice Brennan).
The front nine went to club treasurer Rob Jefferson (12) on 20 points, while the back nine was won by Ryan Rutherford (24) also with 20 points.
