Golf: Clarke claims July Medal win at Cairndhu

Heavy and persistent overnight rain meant a delay in opening the Cairndhu course on Saturday for the July Medal competition but once it was open late morning, play duly got underway.

A healthy field still took on the course which was playing long but with the greens soft, many took advantage of being able to hold the greens.

This was manifest in the low scores which resulted and this weekend saw James Clarke record an excellent 73 gross, nett 63 to take victory by two clear shots.
