Morrison wins Collins Cup

Two hundred and twenty golfers turned out on Saturday to play in the Martin Collins Charity Cup competition at Carrickfergus Golf Club, with Noel Morrrison emerging as the winner with a nett score of 61.

Low handicap winners were Ken Mitchell (nett 64), Gary Robinson (nett 65), Billy Johnston (nett 66) and Glen Williams (nett 67). High handicap winners were Eddie Roberts, Aaron Carley and John Armstrong- all nett 65, and Stephen Wady nett 66.

Davy Patton won the Gross Prize with a score of 72 and Roy Lowry took the Seniors’ Prize with 38 points.

In midweek the Ladies’ Section played for the Jean Sterling Memorial Cup with Angeline McWilliams continuing her recent run of good results to win with 38 points. Lorna Hill was second with 37 points.
