Presentation night at Killymoon

ON Thursday 31st May Lady Captain Frances McKenna distributed the prizes for the Winter League 9 hole competitions and the 18 hole competitions so far this season.

Frances welcomed everyone and thanked them for coming. The weekly competitions have been well supported despite mixed weather conditions.

On Thursday 24th The Centenary Trophy was won by Carol Moore with 38 points. Moira Doyle was runner up with 35 points. Kathy Farrell won the first nine with 20 points on a better back six from Catherine Irwin and Kate O’Neill won the back nine with 17 points.

On Thursday 31st May the Nellie Garrett and Peugeot Foursomes Stableford Competition was played. Tracy Moore and Leslie McGlaughlin took first prize with 33 points, runners up were Diane McIvor and Heather Campbell with 32 points on a better back nine from Avril Marshall and Kathryn Kerr who came third.

Our Challenge Cup and Cowdy Teams have played wonderfully in the past few weeks captained by Kay Simpson and Pat McNeill. The Challenge Cup Team beat Letterkenny and are through to the next round whilst the Cowdy defeated Kilkeel and will meet Banbridge in next round. Well done on efforts so far and good luck in future matches ladies.

The next Open competition the Joanna Rosebowl will be played on Thursday 14th June. We look forward to a good turn out on the day.

The highlight of the lady golfers calendar Lady Captain’s day, is fast approaching and we wish our Lady Captain Frances McKenna well for the 9th June. We hope she has a thoroughly enjoyable day and one to remember for a long time. Lets hope the weather obliges!
