Tom toasts Smirnoff success

The weekend competition at the Brown Trout was for the Smirnoff Cup.

In a lower than usual scoring competition it was Tom Boyd (10) who came out on top with 38 points. Tom had 18 after nine before adding 20 his round included eleven pars six bogeys and one double bogey winning on countback from Ronnie Milliken (6) who also signed for 38 points with 21 after nine Ronnie scored another 17 just losing out after the tiebreak. The highlights of Ronnie’s round were birdies at holes 3,8 and 17. Jimmy Kelly (9) took the third prize on offer with 37 points. Jimmy with the help of back to back birdies at the 6th. and 7th. holes opened with a two over par first nine yielding 22 points. his poor finish with a bogey at the 17th. and failing to score at the last proved very costly for Jimmy with only 15 back nine points to finish just only one off the pace with a total of 37.

The twos kitty was shared by Lester McCloy and Joe Logue.
