Jimmy’s successful comeback

THE weekend fare at the Brown Trout took the form of an 18 hole sweep.

Jimmy Kelly (9) after a very lean spell returned with a vengeance by returning a winning score of 43 points with 20 after the first nine, with the help of a very hot putting display he played the second nine in level par for a further 23 points.

Jimmy scored birdies at holes 4 and 12 and his round included 13 pars! Runner up place went to Ronnie Engall (16) who opened with a three over par front nine which included a birdie at the third giving him 23 points Ronnie completed the back nine in eight over for 18 points with a blank at hole 15 ultimately proving decisive as he lost out by two points.

Two players had returns of 40 points both with 20 each nine. After the tiebreak it was Club Captain Denis James (24) edged out Robert Orr (12) with a better last six to claim third prize. Mark Dempsey and Robert Orr shared the twos kitty with the only twos!! The next week-end competition will be a two man Scramble.
