Keep ‘er Lit campaign visit Lurgan

LAST Sunday Down GAA County star Kevin McKernan was at the St. Paul’s playing fields, visiting the St. Michael’s Magheralin club with his “Keep ‘er Lit” team.

This is part of a fundraising initiative where they visited every club throughout Co Down to help raise funds for Kevin’s cousin Mark, who, five years ago, was diagnosed with a brain tumour that was described as inoperable by the NHS. He and his family sought help further afield and travelled for extensive surgery and treatment to Europe.

Keep ‘er Lit is the first fundraising effort organised to support Mark and his family personally, and has been set up following the diagnosis of a further tumour earlier this year.

At each club Kevin visited over the weekend, Kevin was tasked with having to score a penalty against the host club.

St. Michael’s thank all their members who came out and supported Kevin on his visit to Lurgan and to the St. Paul’s club for the use of their facilities for this. St. Michael’s are currently using the facilities at St. Paul’s while their Magheralin pitch is developed.
