Local youngsters scoop six medals at NI Trampoline Championships

Six competitors from The Trampoline Network competed at the Northern Ireland Championships qualifier over the weekend and six of them took medals.

Competing in five different categories the six members came away with four golds and two silvers. Five of the six achieved the qualifying score for the Northern Ireland Trampoline Championships to be held in November 2015.

First up was Patrick (PJ) Grant who won the under 11 boys National Development Plan (NDP) 1 event with a score of 45.0. This was followed up by Ryan Black 1st with 45.9 and second Conor Napier with 45.6 in the under 13 boys NDP 1 event.

Next Megan Boyd maintained the medal tally with silver in the 15 plus girls with 34.6, sadly the only one of the six not to get the qualifying score. The clubs most experienced competitors were next up with Anna Boe in the 15 plus NDP 5 category and Eoin McNally in the 15 plus boys NDP 6 category. Anna came 1st with 49.6 and Eoin also Gold medaled with 55.4.

The five PJ, Ryan, Conor, Anna and Eoin will compete at the Northern Ireland Trampoline Championships on 14th November at the De LaSalle Sports Complex in Andersonstown.

The Club will try to add further medal success and qualifying scores at the 5th Qualifier to be held on 24th October at Ards Leisure Centre.

The club trains out of Lagan Valley Leisureplex in Lisburn and Lough Moss Leisure Centre in Carryduff and welcomes new members. Club Coach Graham Erskine said ‘I am so proud of the team they have all worked extremely hard and the hard work is paying off.’
