Mark is Ballymoney’s new active communities coach

Ballymoney Borough Council is delighted to appoint Mark McKane as the new active communities coach for the area.

Sport NI is working in partnership with local councils to help people in Northern Ireland to get active and stay active.

The active community coach will be deployed in the local council area to deliver a wide range of sports and activities to increase participation, especially among underrepresented groups such as females and disability participants.

Mark has been a coach for Ballymoney Borough Council Sports Development Unit for the past five years delivering the after school and community sport programs and is a qualified coach in a wide range of sports.

Mark’s role will be deliver a multi sports program to signed up local community associations, schools and voluntary groups.

Sport NI have identified hockey as an important sport to increase participation and Mark will work closely with Ballymoney Hockey Club who are recognised as one of the top clubs in Ireland.
