In the Class 2 Men’s Singles, Gary Bailie and Adam Smith both made the semi-finals, but unfortunately this is as far as either made it. Abbie Fusco, competing in her first 4 Nations tournament made it to the semi-final of the Class 4 Women’s Singles.

Doubles proved to be more successful for the club, where Gary and Adam combined to again reach the semi-final in the Men’s Class 2 event.

In the Women’s Doubles, Claire O’Neill joined her Scottish partner, Jenny Gray, to claim the gold medal in the Class 2 event, while Abbie Fusco and Jackie Robins teamed up to win a silver medal in the Class 3 final.

Unfortunately that was it for medals over the weekend, but in the Mixed Doubles, Adam and Claire came together to make a semi-final in the Class 2 event, while Abbie joined up with her Scottish partner, Steven van Beek, to reach the semi-final of the Class 3 event.

The club is looking forward to building on these results in the home leg of the series, held in Lisburn in November.

Before then, the club will be hosting a taster session at Lisburn Racquets Club from 3-6pm on Saturday 19th September. Anyone interested is attending this can contact [email protected] or call Terry on 07889 808 462.
