She left Premier League side Portadown last summer to join Bann and has already become a key link in the side.

The forward bagged another two goals on Saturday and she reflects on last summer’s transfer as a decision that proved correct.

She said: “It was tough to leave Portadown but it’s a move that I have totally loved. The girls are brilliant, the banter’s great and the training has been first class. We all get on so well so it’s great to achieve this with them.

“It feels great to know that we will be in the Premier League next season. We’re all ready for a new challenge and to make the step up.

“We’re always looking to improve in training and of course we’re open to new players joining as well. The current group we have is quite young so we have a lot of potential to grow and get ourselves ready for the Premier League.”

And as for her goals, in typically modest fashion, Rachel wasn’t keen to hog any credit.

“The other girls have to set them up,” she laughed. “I just do my bit at the end.”
