The Antrim side claimed the Shield after a 5-1 success against Seagulls Potters from Coleraine in the final at the Parochial club.

Pistols were able to call upon the services of a certain Mark Allen for the final and after a slowish start Mark found his rhythm to take the opening frame of his match with Chris Boreland with a well constructed 104 clearance.

Although Mark opened frame two with a 64 break Chris was still well in the frame due to his start on handicap but a loose safety from the Coleraine player proved to be his undoing as Mark cleared up to take the frame.

Jamie Martin extended the Pistols lead winning the opening frame of his match with James Nesbitt. The Potters player played well however in frame two to give the league new boys an outside chance at halfway.

Pistols captain John O’Reilly took the opening frame of his match with Sam Cobbin and when Jordan Brown did likewise against Ivan Boreland 147 had their first trophy of the season.

The league would like to thank the Parochial club for use of their premises for the final and thanks also to Rodney McFall who helped with the refereeing duties.
